Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement applies to the Academic Libraries North (ALN) website – www.academiclibrariesnorth.ac.uk.  

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to: 

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts 
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen  
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard or speech recognition software 
  • listen to most of the site using a screen reader 

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand. 

Our website is built using the content management software, Drupal.  Drupal is committed to ensuring that all features of its core align with the guidelines from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)’s Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).  ALN has used WAVE Web Accessibility Tools to ensure the website is compliant with accessibility guidelines.  

Academic Libraries North is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.  We are committed to keeping the website up to date and ensuring we improve accessibility functions as updates become available.  

The accessibility logo on the top right of each page of the website provides you with accessibility options to help you navigate the site, including amending contrast, size of font and text spacing:
