Service Engagement & Impact Group
Remit:
-
To share best practice, knowledge and experience, which will be achieved by
- Face to face meetings to be held at least once per year - each meeting or workshop will be chaired and hosted at a different member library
- The ALN Service Engagement & Impact JISCMail group ALN-SERVICE-ENGAGEMENT-IMPACT-GP@jiscmail.ac.uk
- To explore initiatives which would demonstrate the value and impact of Library services relating to institutional goals and sector wide rankings and assessments, and which enhance the experience of our customers
- To act as an advisory group for Academic Libraries North projects as required by the ALN Steering Group
Chair:
The Chair will be from among the group members, and will serve for a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 3 years. Where appropriate, a vice chair may also be appointed. The current Chair is Neal Harper, Teesside University and the Vice Chair is Harriet Davidson, University of Sunderland.
Membership:
Staff from academic libraries within ALN with responsibility for / interest in value and impact activities
- Reporting to Steering Group – the group will report to the ALN Steering group in October each year, using the templates provided on Google Drive.
- Work plans for the following SIG year should be submitted in October.
- Lifetime of the group – on-going.
- Frequency of meetings - to be held at least twice per year
- Schedule of meetings - the group will meet in January each year to draft a work plan for submission to the NC steering group.
- Collaboration: links with external groups e.g. SCONUL, other ALN groups e.g conference group.
- Dissemination of information: Reports to SG, Learning Exchanges, ALN Conference, ALN website etc.
