This event will showcase Research Intelligence work at Lancaster and Manchester University libraries, followed by discussion around RI experiences.

The programme will include two presentations and the chance for attendees to discuss RI in group breakouts.

It includes the following presentations:

• Elaine Sykes and Nicola Wylie will talk about setting up Lancaster University’s new Research Intelligence (RI) Service. They will outline the rationale for the Service as part of Lancaster’s Open Research offer. University-wide use cases will introduce some of the challenges and opportunities opened up. Elaine and Nicola will also talk about their long-term vision for RI at Lancaster.

• The University of Manchester Library will demonstrate how they have begun to integrate data from research analytics tools such as SciVal into MS Power BI. This has allowed researchers to more easily visualise areas of research growth, and potential collaboration opportunities focused around UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Presentations will be followed by group breakouts for attendees to consider what they have heard about and discuss their experience of current RI provision (if any), exploring the opportunities and challenges in different institutional contexts. Please come prepared to talk and share with others.

This event will be held on MS Teams. The Teams invite will be sent to all registered attendees in due course.

Initially open to ALN members only, though it may be extended more widely later - we reserve the right to cancel non-ALN member bookings.
